19 Sep – Henry Golding is going for gold in Hollywood, as he's now landed the leading role for yet another romantic movie.

The 31-year-old Sarawak-born actor has been cast as the male lead for Paul Feig's upcoming holiday romance, "Last Christmas".

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the plot is still being kept under wraps so there are no details yet on the character he will be playing. It is only known that the movie will be set in London.

His leading lady will be Emilia Clarke ("Solo: A Star Wars Story", "Me Before You", TV's "Game of Thrones"), whose character details are also undisclosed at the moment.

Golding is fast becoming one of Hollywood's sought-after leading men, ever since the English-Malaysian actor landed his first big gig as the male lead in Jon M. Chu's "Crazy Rich Asians", followed by another leading role in "A Simple Favor" alongside Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively.

The latter is helmed by Feig, so "Last Christmas" will mark the second time that Golding and the director will be working together.

Feig has been attached to direct the romantic comedy since Universal Pictures acquired the script last June. Written by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, the movie is inspired by the popular song of the same name sung by the late George Michael, who collaborated on the movie's concept before his death in 2016.
