Heist Thriller ‘Silver Arrow’ Draws Phedon Papamichael to Direct

Green-Light International has bought Nika Agiashvili’s spec script “The Silver Arrow” for six figures and tapped “Nebraska” cinematographer Phedon Papamichael to direct, Variety has learned exclusively.

“The Silver Arrow” is being developed as an international heist thriller about a group of thieves in the search of the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow, a legendary pre-World War II racing car.

Producers are developing the movie as a franchise starter. Chad Moore and Jeff Elliott will produce alongside Michael Becker of Imprint Entertainment and Nika Agiashvili.

Green-Light International will finance and handle worldwide sales, which will begin at the American Film Market in November. Producers are planning to begin shooting in early 2017.

Papamichael received an cinematography Oscar nomination for “Nebraska.” Other credits include “The Descendants,” “Sideways,” “Pursuit of Happyness” and “Cool Runnings.” He just wrapped lensing “Downsizing,” starring Matt Damon, for Alexander Payne.

Green-Light International recently produced “Imperium,” starring Daniel Radcliffe and is in preparation on “Untogether,” starring Jamie Dornan.

Agiashvili directed “A Green Story” and “Tibilisi, I Love You.” Papamichael is repped by UTA.
