From Harper's BAZAAR

The first teaser trailer for Stranger Things Season 3 just dropped in the guise of a commercial for the latest addition to the Hawkins social scene: the Starcourt Mall.

Replete with eye-watering '80s graphics, tonguing teenagers, and a cameo from newly-minted ice cream scooper Steve (Joe Keery) and his co-worker Robin (our first look at Maya Hawke as the newest addition to the show's cast), the ad for the new mall promises stores like Claire's, The Gap, and Sam Goody (RIP) and a "state-of-the-art food court" for Hawkins' "growing patriotic community." The 87-second clip also offers tantalizing peek at the setting of Stranger Things' third installment-and a note that the new season won't premiere until next summer.

According to Tomorrow's News Today Atlanta, Stranger Things' production team transformed Atlanta's Gwinnett Place Mall into Starcourt Mall, adding retro storefronts, neon lighting, sets for a movie theater and food court, and an arcade filled with games. According to the site, before the mall's return to 1985 for Stranger Things, Gwinnett Place served as the setting for a skate rink scene in last year's '90s-set I, Tonya.

As for Steve and Robin, the two look less-than-enthusiastic about their roles in the advertisement-and, perhaps, their jobs at Scoops Ahoy in the food court. These faces say it all:

Netflix describes the character of Robin as "an alternative girl who is equal parts sharp and playful. Bored with her mundane day job, she just wants a little excitement in her life... and gets more than she bargained for when she uncovers a dark secret in Hawkins." Does that secret have anything to do with the Upside Down?

The closing moments of the trailer feature a bit of bad news; the bottom of the screen blares the words, "Coming next summer," stinging proof that Stranger Things 3 won't drop for another year.
