Harry Styles Just Addressed Rumors That He's Bisexual

From Cosmopolitan

  • Harry Styles addresses rumors that he's bisexual in a new interview.

  • He doesn't give a yes or no answer, but says, "I just think sexuality’s something that’s fun."

Back in October, Harry Styles sent Twitter into a frenzy when he released his single "Lights Up" on National Coming Out Day. People were convinced that the song was Harry's way of coming out as bi, but Harry has been relatively tight-lipped about the fan reaction—that is, until yesterday.

And before we get too much more into it, let's note that Harry doesn't owe anyone an explanation about his preferences and is totally allowed to keep them to himself! That said, Harry recently did an interview with the Guardian and was asked if he'd ever been asked point-blank about whether or not he's bisexual.

Um. I guess I haaaaave been asked? But, I dunno. Why?...It’s not like I’m sitting on an answer, and protecting it, and holding it back. It’s not a case of: I’m not telling you cos I don’t want to tell you. It’s not: ooh this is mine and it’s not yours...It’s: who cares? Does that make sense? It’s just: who cares?

Then, when the reporter presses him a bit about dropping LGBTQ "crumbs" in his work and clothing choices, Harry replies,

Am I sprinkling in nuggets of sexual ambiguity to try and be more interesting? No...in terms of how I wanna dress, and what the album sleeve’s gonna be, I tend to make decisions in terms of collaborators I want to work with. I want things to look a certain way. Not because it makes me look gay, or it makes me look straight, or it makes me look bisexual, but because I think it looks cool. And more than that, I dunno, I just think sexuality’s something that’s fun. Honestly? I can’t say I’ve given it any more thought than that.

Okay! So now that that's sorted, we can all go back to listening to "Fine Line" (Harry's new album about sex and feeling sad) on repeat.
