Harry Styles doesn’t believe that the fight for equality should be political, and someone put this man in charge

While he’s aware that it’s a sign of the times (sorry), Harry Styles doesn’t believe the fight for equality should be political. In fact, he thinks it should be fundamental.

It’s been a busy few weeks for Harry Styles. The former One Direction band member recently launched his solo career with the Bowie-esque track “Sign of the Times,” dropping by Saturday Night Live to perform the track for the first time. If that wasn’t enough, however, it seems that the British singer is avoiding drawn out album campaigns and is, in fact, releasing his debut self-titled solo album next month. The album, Harry Styles, is available May 12th, and Harold even shared the collections rather beautiful album artwork and the tracklist.

Well, not only is Harry Styles blowing us away with his rather enjoyable new music, but the singer has also proved that he knows a thing or two when it comes to discussing the state of the world.

Dropping by French TV show Quotidien, Harry was quizzed about his opinions regarding the controversial referendum that has seen Britain leave the European Union (aka Brexit).

Initially, Harry was reticent to answer, noting that he doesn’t really discuss politics (as is his right). However, the TV host then said that the fight for equal rights was politics, and Harry had the best response.

This isn’t the first time that Harry Styles has discussed the importance of equality. The singer has previously refused to use gender specific pronouns when discussing his private life, and shared a message about LGBTQ rights on Instagram while in One Direction.

Meanwhile, Harry Styles also showcased his feminist credentials in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. The singer defended his fans, many of whom are young women, noting that their taste in music shouldn’t be looked down upon.

“Music is something that’s always changing. There’s no goal posts. Young girls like the Beatles. You gonna tell me they’re not serious? How can you say young girls don’t get it?” he said. “They’re our future. Our future doctors, lawyers, mothers, presidents, they kind of keep the world going.”

Tbh, we couldnt’ agree more with what Harry Styles is saying, both about equality and about young women. While it might not seem like much, it’s great to see people speaking up for other people and for what they believe in.
