Harry Potter star Jim Tavaré on the mend and reunited with dog after horror crash

British actor and comedian Jim Tavaré is on the mend after spending two weeks in intensive care following a head-on car crash.

Tavaré, who played Tom, the proprietor of the Leaky Cauldron in ‘Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’, posted video online of a brief trip out of the hospital to be reunited with his dog, Mr. Kippy (accompanied by an amusingly grand classical soundtrack).

“Thanks, guys for all the well wishes. You are all so kind. I’m looking forward to getting out of here, but not looking forward to the medical bills,” he told fans.

Tavaré, who lives in Los Angeles, suffered a broken neck, a punctured lung, 15 fractured ribs, breaks in his right leg, and a fractured breastbone.

His wife Laura informed fans with a post on his Facebook page, coupled with pictures of him heavily bruised and in a neck brace.

“This is for real, not a movie role,” she added. “Please hold some good thoughts for him as he fights his way out of this.”

RADA-trained Tavaré has also starred in US shows like ‘Californication’ and ‘Chuck’, and won a BAFTA for his work on ITV comedy series ‘The Sketch Show’.
