Haor decides to work independently after 13 years

29 Dec – After four years under Ascents Media Entertainment, Taiwanese singer-songwriter Haor has decided to work independently from any established record labels.

As reported on Epoch Times, the singer, who recently released a new EP, "Nonstop" under his own studio, stressed that he is not "out of his comfort zone", but instead returning to it, as working independently means that he can make music more freely.

"I used to think that it is annoying for singers to think about other things aside from music. But now I think that should be the case. Like the work I have created. In addition to the music, we also have our own vision, personality and colour. It feels more completed," he said.

As for the other things related to his career, Haor joked that his wife is currently his "Finance Director" and "Master of Time Management". He also revealed that former boss Chen Wei-quan is also supporting his efforts and has continued to give relevant professional advice during the preparation period.

Asked what was the most difficult aspect of working solo, the singer responded, "Marketing and publicity."

"Fortunately, I have accumulated a lot of contacts throughout my 13-year career and I can discuss and brainstorm it with them," he added.
