Hans Isaac announces he is quitting acting

8 Dec – After 25 years in the film industry, Hans Isaac recently announced that he is retiring.

In an Instagram post on 7 December, the actor, director and producer expressed his thoughts about his career in showbiz and wrote, "It all started when Datin Paduka Shuhaimi Baba gave me the opportunity to play a character in the film "Ringgit Kasorrga" in 1994. 30 of them were feature films, a large number of dramas and TV shows. I was then nominated for Best Actor, Best Screenplay and won Best Supporting Actor for "Buli Balik" alongside Afdlin Shauki, to star in a Philippine movie (Miss You Like Crazy) to Singapore City Sharks, and now it's time to step down."

"Acting was not my passion, but I learned to love and enjoy the process as well as being lucky enough to be able to work with the best in the industry. For those of you who know me well, they'll tell you that I'm not the type to sit back and do nothing. I always ask myself "What and who is the next Hans?" when I have achieved a certain goal, how can I improve and at the same time give opportunities to others around me?"

Hans stated that despite his retirement, he will continue to support the industry.

"My hope is to direct another musical theater at Istana Budaya one day and will continue to take the time to build my empire. Because if no one believed me before, then there would be no Hans Isaac the ACTOR. With that said, thank you to all the producers, directors, colleagues and crew members for giving me some of the best memories of a lifetime," he added.

In a previous interview, Hans said that he no longer sees the future in showbiz, which is monopolized by a certain group of people.

"I have chosen another path, that is to be an entrepreneur," he said.
