"Hand Rolled Cigarette" selected for Udine Festival

12 May – Gordon Lam's upcoming movie, "Hand Rolled Cigarette" has been selected to represent Hong Kong at the 23rd Udine Far East Film Festival.

As reported on AM730, the movie, which was part of the Hong Kong's First Feature Film Initiative, will be holding its European premiere at the festival, which will run from 11 to 19 June.

Speaking to the media about the selection, director Chan Kin Long expressed, "I am very happy that the movie has been selected by the Udine Film Festival and will continue to meet different viewers around the world. I thank the cast and the crew for their cooperation. It was only through everybody's contribution that the movie can go so far."

The movie was previously nominated in seven categories at the 57th Golden Horse Awards and opened the 17th Hong Kong Asian Film Festival.

In the movie, Gordon Lam plays a retired soldier who finds himself in a dilemma on whether to flee for his life over a deal gone bad or save a South Asian youth of whom he has formed a close friendship.

It co-stars Ben Yuen, Michael Ning, Tai Bo and Bipin Karma.
