Halloween 2021: From Kim K to Squid Games, see what local and regional personalities wore

What did you choose to dress up as for this Halloween? While huge parties are still frowned upon due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Halloween 2021 is still an opportunity for many to dress up, whether it is with friends or as a family.

Yahoo Life SEA takes a look at some of the costumes that both local and regional celebrities donned for Halloween, ranging from Kim Kardashian’s famous MET Gala look to the phenomenal worldwide drama Squid Game.

Belle Mariano

Filipina actress and model Belle Mariano and actor Donny Pangilinan are seen in matching dinosaur onesies, complete with face masks, taking things cosy this Halloween.

Fann Wong

Along with her son Zed, who had donned a chef’s hat, Fann Wong did “art jam on cookies with Halloween theme”, while dressed up as a gorgeous witch. “I think he’s quite serious about the baking business, even setting up the props for the shoot,” the actress wrote, posting more photos of her presenting the scary cookies in her witchy costume.

Alec O.

Dressing up like Kim Kardashian from MET Gala 2021, influencer and host Alec O. took Halloween to the next level with a “black zentai suit and stilettos”. Making sure he didn't break any Singapore COVID-19 related laws, he was also seen in a video with a mask over his costume.

Pierre Png

Dressing up as one of the mid-rank guards from the Netflix hit Squid Game, actor Pierre Png can be seen donning a huge tote bag and a face mask with a featured triangle logo.

Iman Fandi

Fandi Ahmad’s daughter and model-singer Iman Fandi went for a demure look; she opted for sparkly soft makeup, captioning her post, “Need a last-minute Halloween Costume? join The Broken Hearts Club #lmlm”.

Tay Kewei

Singaporean singer Tay Kewei and husband Alfred Sim dressed the family up as characters from the popular film, Journey to the West. Their sons were dressed up as Monkey King and Tang Sanzang, while Sim and Tay were Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing, respectively.

Sarah Lian

Over in Malaysia, Sarah Lian turned the heat up this Halloween with a sexy cosplay of Fran from Final Fantasy XII. “Baby girl is ready to play tonight. Call me Fran,” she captioned.

Marion Caunter

Another Squid Game entry; we saw Marion Caunter and her husband SM Nasimuddin dressed up as the show’s contestant #218 for their daughter’s Halloween birthday party. In Squid Game, contestant 218 is the protagonist’s friend, Cho Sang-woo, played by actor Park Hae-soo.

Jane Chuck

Malaysian-born influencer Jane Chuck took on Halloween 2021 as a “baby robot”, dressing up in a silver bodysuit. “Idk (I don’t know) what I wanted to be but ok happy Halloween,” she confessed in her caption.

Kittie Yiyi

Fashion designer Kittie Yiyi asked fans to guess if dressed up as a strawberry or an evil Tinker Bell this Halloween, but we are sure she slayed both. The designer had also donned a Squid Game cosplay earlier the week, being the ‘Green Light, Red Light’ doll.

Jasmine Curtis

Filipina-Australian actress Jasmine Curtis dressed up as the Scoops Ahoy girl, Robin Buckley, who is one of the main characters in the third season of Stranger Things, for Halloween. Curtis’ outfit even has her own 'Jasmine' nametag instead of the original 'Robin' tag.

Let them eat cake! Former journalist turned podcaster Sam Jo wins hands-down with his Marie Antoinette costume.

If you scroll through the gallery, you could see how intricate the structure of the outfit is, and we loved how much fun he had with it. Génial!
