Halle Bailey ditches mermaidcore style for angelic vibes in white crop top set
There's less than a week still to go before the much-anticipated Disney film The Little Mermaid *finally* hits UK cinemas (26 May: commit it to memory), and if you couldn't already tell we are seriously excited about it. We'll be honest, though: there is a part of us that wouldn't mind if the pre-release press tour went on for a little while longer... Simply because the fashion looks being served by Halle Bailey and Simone Ashley as they go around the world promoting the film are giving us life right now – and we don't want them to stop!
Halle, who plays Ariel in the film, has been *particularly* nailing it, if you ask us. Who could forget that perfect, mermaid-esque gown by Miss Sohee for the UK premiere earlier this week? Orrrrrr *that* silver Valdrin Sahiti dress that literally looked like water? We're loving watching her play around with the film's theme in her fashion choices – and nailing the brief every single time.
Her latest look, however, marks a slight departure from her recent mermaidcore obsession. For her appearance on Good Morning America, Halle channeled her super-cute angelic side by wearing an all-white outfit and we have to say, she looked stunning AF. Just have a look for yourself:
The actress and singer stepped out in a tiny crop top covered with lacy flower appliqués, and a matching high-waisted maxi skirt featuring a daring, thigh-high centre slit and tiny cut-out details. To complete the look, Halle added white leather mules and slung a white coat over her shoulders too. A literal vision in white. Here she is again in all her angelic glory:
If you look suuuuuper closely, though, you might just spot *one* small mermaid-y detail... Namely: her pedicure. It can't be an accident that the one time Halle doesn't wear a full Ariel-inspired 'fit, that her toes are painted in the exact metallic blue shade of a mermaid's tail.
That may seem like a bit of a reach, but we're standing by it. Keep the fab 'fits (and guessing games) coming, Halle!
