25 May – Hairul Azreen is elated that his new movie, "The Assistant" has made over RM1 million at the box office in just four days following its release.

The actor, who shared the good news on social media on 23 May, expressed, "Alhamdulillah, I didn't expect the movie THE ASSISTANT, even though being screened for 18 years and above, can still be box office hit."

"Thank you to everyone who support Malaysian action movies. This is a good start for Malaysian filmmakers," he added.

Director Adrian Teh is also elated by the news, posting on Instagram, "For an 18 rated movie and the tug of war for our show times, I am proud with the achievement of our box office to date. Thank you all for the support and let's continue the journey!"

"The Assistant" stars Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin as Zafik, who is imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. After losing everything, he meets Feroz (Hairul Azreen) who seems to always show up at just the right time. As time goes on, Zafik begins to wonder about Feroz's true motives.

The film has been in theatres in Malaysia and Singapore since 19 May.
