Guo Jingming announces adaptation of "Onmyoji"

19 Dec – Chinese writer-turned-dicretor Guo Jingming is set to adapt the Japanese novel series, "Onmyoji" for the big screen.

As reported on Mtime, the writer who known for his "Tiny Times" franchise, shared the good news on social media saying that he has been preparing for the project since 2016 and is excited for the Chinese movie that has been titled, "Qing Ya Ji".

"Thank you to the original author, Baku Yumemakura for trusting me with this work. I hope that this project will live up to the expectation of its fans," he expressed.

The upcoming film will star Taiwanese actor Mark Chao and "Ashes of Love" star Allen Deng.

The original series of novels, which follows the story of a master in onmyōdō (a Japanese esoteric cosmology), have been adapted many times before through manga by Reiko Okano, two small screen series in 2001 and 2015, as well as two Japanese movies released in 2001 and its sequel in 2003 directed by Yojiro Takita.
