'Grimm' to bow out with final season

The final season of "Grimm" starts in January 2017

Bad news for fans of the supernatural crime show "Grimm" -- its upcoming season will be its last.

The sixth season of the show will feature just 13 episodes, compared to the 22 episodes featuring in all previous seasons. The final season of the NBC show will premiere on January 6, Deadline reports.

The Friday night show stars Bree Turner, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch and David Giuntoli, among others. It has seen consistently high ratings since its launch in 2011.
