‘Grey’s Anatomy': Meredith Committed the Ultimate Betrayal

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Thursday’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy”)

Ever since the start of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, everyone and their mama knew that Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) is basically in love with Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) — especially her sister, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).

Unfortunately, when Dr. Pierce professed her love (OK, it was more like a strong interest) to Dr. Riggs, he didn’t feel the same and kindly let her down (tore her poor heart into a million tiny pieces and stepped all over them) — another small detail Dr. Grey was aware of.

But little did Maggie know that her sister was a scheming, lying, trifling no good person who went behind her back and fell in love with Dr. Riggs herself and then hid it from Maggie.

OK, so maybe it didn’t exactly go down like that, but despite Meredith’s multiple attempts at distancing herself from Nathan, the attraction between the two was too unbearable and the two ended up trying the whole couple thing.

Meredith knew that their relationship would greatly affect Maggie and was thinking of a way to break it to her, but Maggie is smart and ended up figuring it out herself. Ouch.

Now it’s one thing for your friend to go behind your back and sleep with your crush who rejected you (the same friend you confided in when said crush rejected you), but for your own flesh and blood to do that … now that’s something else.

And on top of that, Maggie’s mother literally just died and she was finding solace in knowing she still had Meredith on her side.

That is until Meredith went and committed the ultimate betrayal. Poor Maggie.
