Grace Helbig, ‘Epic Rap Battles of History’ Dominate Streamy Awards Nominations
Maker Studios’ “Epic Rap Battles of History” and New Form Digital’s “Oscar’s Hotel for Fantastical Creatures” each earned four nominations for the 6th Annual Streamy Awards on Wednesday, the most of any other show.
To keep up with the ever-evolving trends in online video, the Streamys added three new categories this year: Live, Virtual Reality and 360 Video, and Feature. “Live” constitutes streams that weren’t streamed in real time. VR and 360 video is for those creating user experiences using VR and 360 technology. “Feature” refers to feature-length movies.
Legendary Entertainment’s new “Electra Woman & Dyna Girl,” the remake of the 1976 Sid and Marty Krofft joint starring Grace Helbig and Hannah Hart, also grabbed a nomination, for best action or sci-fi, and Helbig and Hart both earned nods for best actress in the performance category.
