Birds do the darnedest things. If they’re not randomly pooping on top of our heads, they’re constantly engaged in other peculiar acts, like this goose flying next to a car on the highway. By the looks of the Break Clips video that displays the unbelievable sight, this agile avian creature — which absolutely must be referred to as “Highway Goose” from here on out — decided that flying in V-formation was for suckas because humans and those strange moving boxes they sit inside of make far more interesting companions.

OTOH, maybe this is the literal illustration of a popular Chinese idiom that goes, “A wild goose carries a message from afar,” in which case, we totally get. Sometimes the tea you have to spill is so piping hot that it absolutely cannot wait, leaving you no choice but to chase down someone, anyone who will listen.

We’re also thinking Highway Goose dropped in one these unsuspecting passengers to deliver a not-so-humble brag to all mankind like, “Your car could never,” just in case we get too cocky about the capability of our beloved inventions. Or it could’ve been a kind gesture on the part of a friendly bird that knows the back roads like no other and simply wanted to tell these travelers about some traffic status on the highway that wasn’t showing up on Google Maps.

Anyone out there well-versed in bird behavior and wanna throw some guesses in the hat?

So, yeah, we still have no scientific idea what Highway Goose was *really* up to during this most unusual and risky flight path, but we hope it eventually got off the road and safely rejoined its flock.
