Guys, Love Island's confirmed return date is just around the corner
We don't know about you, but it feels like winter Love Island basically just ended, with the live final taking place on 13th June. But fast forward seven weeks, and it's officially back, as Love Island has been confirmed for another season later this summer. Woohoo!
The summer series was announced in June last year, ensuring our whole summer is filled with a brand new group of Islanders ready to fall in love. But who will be in the cast? Where will the season take place? And will Maya Jama return as host? This is everything you need to know about the summer Love Island 2023 season.
What is summer Love Island's release date?
Love Island revealed with a tweet on 24th May 2023 that they were back in less than two weeks! "It's a date! #LoveIsland returns Monday 5th June," they shared alongside a picture of host Maya Jama.

Series eight in 2022 kicked off on Monday, 6th June 2022, while season seven in 2021 landed on the 28th June. While 2020 didn't happen for obvious reasons, launch date in 2019 was Monday 3rd June, while 2018 was the 4th June. So this season follows the same pattern, then.
When was summer Love Island 2023 confirmed?
The next season of Love Island was confirmed all the way back in June 2022 by ITV, who promised a double helping of the series for 2023.
At the time Paul Mortimer, the Director of Reality Commissioning and Controller at ITV2, said: "Love Island has once again proved itself to be the nation’s favourite talking point across the summer, and we’re always blown away by the show’s ongoing impact and talkability amongst our younger audience.
"So, rather than just serving up a Summer of Love, we thought we’d make 2023 the Year of Love with two full series of the show."
We can't wait!
Who will present summer Love Island?
Maya Jama is officially back for a second season, after joining the Love Island team for the winter version of the show. She took over from hosting duties after Laura Whitmore stepped down from the role in 2022.
Where will summer Love Island take place?
When announcing Love Island would be returning for summer 2023, ITV also confirmed the series would be taking place in its usual location of Mallorca. Last year we saw the Islanders arrive at a brand new stunning villa, so it's likely it could take place there again. Let the countdown begin!
