Gigi Hadid has slammed "petty complaining" on social media after she was criticised for wearing a sporty outfit.
Earlier in the week, a paparazzi picture showing the model wearing black leggings, a sweater and white trainers from her Reebok collection, along with a black padded jacket, began circulating on social media.
In a since-deleted post on Twitter, one user shared a scathing opinion on Gigi's off-duty style and wrote: "She's such a natural beauty... idk (I don't know) what happened to her iconic street style tho (sic)."
According to E! News, another Twitter user responded: "What happened is called Mimi," referencing Gigi's stylist, Mimi Cuttrell.
Blasting her critics, the 24-year-old clapped back and told the online trolls that their "unrealistic expectations" weren't going to influence how she dressed.
"You guys need to calm (the f**k) down sometimes. It's called stepping out to do one errand, not dressing for your approval. Your unrealistic expectations and petty complaining all the time about my style or not being sexy enough isn't going to make me dress different," Gigi fired on Twitter.
"Not just talking about this specific comment. You all talk about empowering women. I support and empower women that show skin and that don't," the beauty later added. "It's about choice. I show skin when I want to and still feel sexy covered head to toe & will continue to do so. Over the snarky comments."
Gigi also seemingly responded to another user who had removed their negative comment on her outfit and said those blaming her stylist for her outfit choices were very much mistaken.
"I like what I wear and wear it for that reason. It's not about a stylist, it's how I'm choosing to express myself," she posted. "Your opinion isn't going to change that. Those of you who feel this way should focus your energy on praising those whose style you love. Peace."
