Ghostbusters: Bill Murray and Ozzy Osbourne Cameos Rumoured

UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed that this rumour is on the level, and Bill Murray will indeed appear in the ‘Ghostbusters’ reboot.

Big pinch of salt at the ready, but this might be just the news that devotees of the original ‘Ghostbusters’ have been waiting for… aside from those who are waiting to be told that Paul Feig’s all-female reboot has been cancelled, of course (to which we can only say, get over it).

A rumour has broken that original ‘Ghostbusters’ main man, Bill Murray himself, may indeed be set to appear in the new film - as well as, erm, Ozzy Osbourne. Which, frankly, we didn’t see coming, but don’t in any way disapprove of.

The Murray rumour originates from Superhero Hype, who shared photographs of the screen legend allegedly on his way to the set of the reboot in Boston, MA.

Does this in any way confirm Murray will be seen in the film alongside Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy and co? Not at all - but given his old co-star Dan Aykroyd is already reported to make an appearance (via a tweet the actor has since deleted), it’s reasonable to assume Murray might very well cameo too.

Still, even if Murray does appear it is unlikely he will reprise his iconic role of Peter Venkman, as this new ‘Ghostbusters’ is said to be a total reboot set in a world where the original movies never happened.

The Ozzy Osbourne rumour, meanwhile, comes from the Boston Herald, who cite “a spy on the scene” claiming that a heavy metal concert has been shot for the film featuring the foul-mouthed prince of darkness himself.

If the Ghostbusters are on the scene, does this mean we’ll be seeing a supernatural outbreak at an Ozzy gig? We can certainly think of worse places for ghosts to appear.

With or without Murray and Ozzy, ‘Ghostbusters’ is set to hit cinemas in July 2016.
