Finn Wolfhard has promised that this summer's Ghostbusters: Afterlife is "really faithful" to the original 1984 movie.
The young actor is famous for his role in Netflix's sci-fi phenomenon Stranger Things, but with Afterlife, Wolfhard is entering hallowed cinematic ground.
It's not something he takes lightly either, as he explained in a recent conversation with NME.
"When I was really young, my parents were really big fans of the original movies, so I grew up watching them," he revealed.
"Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis – all of those were big, big people in our house. So getting to be a part of that legacy now is very flattering."
Directed by Jason Reitman (the son of Ghostbusters veteran Ivan Reitman), Wolfhard then discussed what fans can expect from the latest paranormal adventure.
"Older Ghostbusters fans will find it's a really, really faithful approach to the series. While young people, if not everyone, will find that, first and foremost, Ghostbusters is about family and the relationships that these people have made," he explained.
"It's also really funny, so I'm really excited for people to see it."
Wolfhard's parents will be extra thrilled for their son, as the likes of Murray, Aykroyd, Hudson and Sigourney Weaver are all returning for the new instalment.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is out in cinemas on July 10.
