GFRIEND ends contract with Source Music

19 May – After six years with Source Music, it was reported that idol group GFRIEND will officially be ending their contract with the said agency.

As reported on Showbiz CheatSheet, the news was confirmed by the company on 18 May amid rumours of the group's departure, saying that the group will no longer be part of Source Music beginning 22 May.

"We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to GFRIEND who has allowed Source Music to accompany them on their journey. We would like to deeply thank all BUDDY and fans who have shown your love for GFRIEND, and we ask that you give your unchanging love and support to the members who will begin their adventures in new and diverse areas," the agency stated.

The statement added that they will continue to express support for the members as they take the first step towards new beginnings.

No news as to whether the group will remain together or disband.

GFRIEND made their debut with Source Music in 2015 with their EP, "Season of Glass". The group, which has six members consisting of Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji, had since released four studio albums with the last one, "Walpurgis Night" released in November last year.
