Fancy having some local hawker fare for lunch, but unwilling to face the crowd or out of tissues to ‘chope’ a seat? Well, you’re in luck, provided you work or live in the Central Business District (CBD).

Concierge and delivery service honestbee unveiled on Tuesday (14 November) an on-demand lunchtime hawker food delivery from places such as Maxwell Food Centre, Amoy Street Food Centre and Hong Lim Food Centre.

Users place their orders in the honestbee app and can select food from multiple stalls within the same hawker centre. The service will be available between 11am to 2pm and the cut off time for last orders is at 2pm. A delivery fee of $3.50 applies per order. Orders above $35 will get free delivery.

“Hawker food is a staple of every Singaporean’s life,” said Reece Wee, head of FOOD at honestbee Singapore. “By introducing honestbee Hawker Food, we want to help bridge the gap between hawkers and customers – to help everyone pack more into their lunch hour.”

For the rest of us who don’t happen to be in the CBD during lunch hour, don’t worry. There are plans to make honestbee’s hawker food delivery service available island-wide at a later date.
