Get A Closer Look At Guardians of the Galaxy's Yondu And His Fancy New Head-Fin

Marvel has posted a new picture from the set of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ showing off Michael Rooker’s mad space pirate Yondu.

After appearing in full make-up at July’s San Diego Comic Con and revealing the character’s trademark head-fin, Marvel Studios has now offered a new look.

The fin/mohawk - let’s go with fin-hawk - has been a defining trait of the character since he first appeared in a Marvel Comic in 1969.

The black-and-white photo was posted on Marvel’s Instagram as part of the “#MarvelPhotoChallenge”.

In James Gunn’s first 'Guardians of the Galaxy’ the character sported more of a flat mohawk. How he gets the fin will be just one of the new film’s many mysteries.

Rooker’s character will have at-least a similar sized role as in that original, and if concept art is to be believed he may also be joining the Guardians themselves.

The exact nature of the new film’s plot is under wraps, but we know it’ll involve Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) finding his father, played by Kurt Russell. Russell’s character was revealed to be Ego: The Living Planet, with the actor playing a humanoid manifestation of the ancient being.

Rooker appear in the film alongside established Guardians Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as Rocket Racoon and Groot - who won’t be voiced by Vin Diesel.

Russell joins fellow newcomers to the series, Elizabeth Debicki, Pom Klementieff and Sylvester Stallone.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ will be released on 28 April 2017.
