Gerald Anderson drowns backlash by focusing on work

24 Jan – Gerald Anderson recently admitted that his new series, "A Soldier's Heart" has helped a little in distracting him from the backlash over his breakup with Bea Alonzo.

As reported on Inquirer, the actor who received his fair share of netizens' wrath over the previous cheating allegations, shared that he gave all of his heart towards the project to keep his sanity throughout the whole ordeal.

"I can't go face-to-face with people I don't know. Bashing comes with the territory. As celebrities, we're exposed to them. Being on social media and having smart phones have given everybody the right to comment on our lives," he said.

Anderson added that rather than let himself get affected by the criticisms, he decided that he would use all his energy in accomplishing his goals instead.

"I have hungry mouths to feed. I have to be calm in dealing with bashers," he said.

It is noted that the actor underwent three days of intense military training for the said drama, which had since fuelled his admiration for the military.

"I realised that we would complain about our lives on a daily basis. We would react negatively to waiters who we think are taking too much time to serve us our food. We would complain about not having electricity for several hours in a day, while our soldiers in operation sleep on wet ground with nothing to use as pillows. Let's be more patient and appreciative of others," he said.
