Georgia May Foote splits from boyfriend Giovanni Pernice
Georgia May Foote has announced that she and her boyfriend Giovanni Pernice have decided to part ways. The couple, who met on Strictly Come Dancing last year, revealed that they plan "to be friends."
Tweeting out a statement which was then retweeted by Giovanni, the former Coronation Street star said: "It is with great sadness we have decided to split up. There is nobody else involved. Although it was not an easy decision to make sometimes you realise that it is better to be friends and this is one of those times.
The couple wished each other well for the future
"We both have very busy work schedules for the rest of the year so we are both going to focus on our upcoming work projects and we wish each other well for the future."
Fans of the star were quick to voice their support, with one writing: "keep your chin up Georgia everything happens for a reason something bigger and better is waiting for you," while another wrote: "you're beautiful and if it's meant to be it will one day down the line. Head high baby girl and stand tall."

Georgia revealed that she was struggling with the split after asking her Twitter followers to be respectful. She said: "Nothing I ever said about my feelings to Gio were fake before people start. I still love him very very much. But things change. Please... Be respectful to me at this time by not saying awful things. This is a hard time for me."
Seemingly in a reference to the news, she later simply tweeted: "Gutted isn't the word."
The couple took their relationship to a new level back in February by moving in together, and Georgia opened up about their home life, telling the Mirror at the time: "I love cooking for him. He does wash pots and help out. I like being housewifey, I always have really. We like quiet nights in."
