Genshin Impact: Tighnari, Collei, Dori revealed as first playable Sumeru characters

HoYoverse’s Genshin Impact has finally and officially on Monday (11 July) revealed the first batch of playable characters from Sumeru coming in version 3.0.

5-star bow wielder Tighnari and 4-star bow wielder Collei will be Genshin Impact's first playable Dendro characters. Also revealed was Dori, a 4-star Electro claymore wielder.

All three new characters will make their debut in Genshin Impact version 3.0 alongside Sumeru, the nation of Dendro and the fourth of Teyvat's seven nations.

Tighnari is a 5-star Dendro bow wielder, also known as the Verdant Strider and the Avidya Forest Watcher, whose constellation is Vulpes Zerda.

From what has been revealed about Sumeru so far, we can surmise that Tighnari is the leader of the Forest Rangers that safeguard the Avidya Forest.

Collei

Collei is a 4-star Dendro bow wielder whose constellation is Leptailurus Cervarius. She also featured prominently in the Genshin Impact prequel manga.

In the prequel manga, Collei was taken from her family by the Fatui and became a test subject of the Archon Residue experiments by the Harbinger Dottore.

After freeing herself from the Fatui's clutches, Collei eventually found herself in Mondstadt and was taken in by Amber and the Knights of Favonius.

At the conclusion of the manga, Collei was brought to Sumeru by the scholar Cyno.

Some time has passed since the events of the manga, as Collei has visibly grown and found her place in Sumeru as a trainee of the Avidya Forest Rangers under Tighnari.

You can learn more about Collei's story in the Genshin Impact prequel manga here.

The official English translation was unfortunately only updated up to Chapter 13, though the Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean translations complete up to Chapter 16.

Dori

Dori is a 4-star Dendro claymore wielder whose constellation is Magicae Lucerna. She is a renown merchant in Sumeru and, according to Tighnari, "No matter how rare the experimental materials are, you can buy them from Dori."

With that said, Tighnari and almost everyone else have no idea where Dori sources her goods from.

HoYoverse has slowly but surely revealing more about Sumeru as we inch closer to the release of Genshin Impact version 3.0.

The developers have already released a teaser for the new element, Dendro, and the elemental reactions it will bring to the game's element system. Aside from a new element, Sumeru will surely bring new landscapes, characters, perils, and adventures to the Traveler.

Tighnari, Collei, and Dori are slated to be released alongside the new nation, Sumeru, in Genshin Impact version 3.0 in late August.

Genshin Impact is currently in version 2.7, which will run until 12 July. The game's final version before 3.0 and the release of Sumeru is version 2.8, which will be released on 13 July.

Should version 2.8 have the same 40-day duration as all other versions, then Genshin Impact version 3.0 should come out on 22 August.
