Energy Ministry: Russia shelled gas infrastructure in two regions, consumers are cut off

A number of customers were cut off from gas supplies after Russian shelling damaged gas infrastructure facilities in Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk Oblasts, the Ukrainian Energy Ministry's press service reported on Nov. 7.

Repairs are under way.

Ukraine is actively accumulating gas reserves in storage facilities due to favorable weather conditions, the ministry also said.

Ukraine is aware of the danger that Russia could pose in winter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Oct. 6.

Earlier, Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said that Ukraine had considered last winter's experience and had already prepared an action plan in case of prolonged power outages.
