Gao Xiaosong: Hunan TV has apologised for "Silence"!

21 Feb - Composer Gao Xiaosong recently revealed that Hunan TV has already apologised for illegally using the song, "Silence" in its show, "Singer 2017".

According to Red Net, on 19 February, Gao shared online that the broadcasting network has recently made its apology for the copyright issue and is currently undergoing the re-authorisation process.

He also expresed his support for Jason Zhang, whose rendition of the song previously caused the controversy.

Earlier, Jason performed the said song in the show. Since it was originally recorded by songstress Na Ying, the singer decided to make some changes to the lyrics and composition to suit his voice and his perspective as a man.

However, Gao, who saw the performance, shared his criticism online, saying that the show did not ask for permission from its original composer Qian Lei and lyricist Yin Yue before using the song.

On the other hand, although the broadcaster has apologised to Gao, there is no official statement made by the show regarding the issue.
