"Gandarrapido" tops Metro Manila Film Festival box office
19 Jan – Vice Ganda proves that he is the box office king as once again his Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) movie, "Gandarrapido: The Revenger Squad" topped the MMFF box office result.
As reported on ABS-CBN, in an announcement made on 17 January by an Executive Committee (Execom) member, it was revealed that the superhero comedy topped the list, followed by another Star Cinema movie, "Ang Panday" - directed by and starring Coco Martin.
On the other hand, the third and fourth place went to Paul Soriano's "Siargao", and supernatural film, "Haunted Forest".
According to Bing Advincula, vice chair of MMFF ExeCom, 60 percent of the earnings came from the two Star Cinema movies alone, with "Gandarrapido" earning more than P500 million.
