Game version of "John Wick" is in development

Now you can experience playing the titular assassin too just like Keanu Reeves! (Sort of).

9 May – While fans were getting giddy expecting the third "John Wick" that's releasing this month, little did know they will be getting more than just a movie this year.

For fans who can't get enough of the dog-loving assassin and have from time to time fantasised about living a hitman life (we know you do), your dream of being in John Wick's shoes is coming true – in a way.

The Verge brought word that the franchise is expanding beyond just movies as it now includes a video game, called "John Wick Hex".

A visual sample of "John Wick Hex".

Described as a "fight-choreographed chess brought to life", it will give players the chance to play the strategy game as the titular assassin made famous by Keanu Reeves in the movie versions.

Ian McShane and Lance Reddick are among the cast members that will be lending their voices to the game. No word yet, however, on whether Keanu will be part of the voice cast.

Game designer Mike Bithell will be helming the project for Good Shepherd Entertainment and Lionsgate.

Since the game is created in close cooperation with the creative and stunt teams behind the movies, it is said that it will capture" the series "signature gun fu style while expanding its story universe".

"Players must choose every action and attack they make, while considering their immediate cost and consequences. Every move in "John Wick" Hex feels like a scene from the movies, and every fight contributes to your progress on the job and requires precise strategic thinking," states the in-depth description of the game.

The shootings will feel pretty realistic due to the limited ammo.

Players will be looking virtually just as snazzy as Wick since the game will feature his trademark suits, which players can unlock along with new weapons and locations. Players will also be provided with "realistically simulated" limited ammo.

There's no launch date yet for "John Wick Hex" but it is expected to be coming to consoles as well as Mac and PC.
