This “Game of Thrones” visual effects reel is just really friggin’ impressive

If you’re a true Game of Thrones fan, then you know how much amazing work goes on not just in front of the camera, but also behind the camera, in order to make this show the epic saga that it is.

And while we often get fun glimpses into the casts’ lives between takes, as well as details we spot in the production design, it’s impressive to see just how complicated it is to make the ~magic~ come to life… like blowing up King’s Landing.

One of the effects companies for Thrones – Australia-based, Rising Sun Pictures – just released an amazing reel of never-before-seen effects footage and it will totally mesmerize you.

Like all the different layers that made up the square in front of the Great Sept of Baelor.

The fact that they actually animate citizens of King’s Landing that you’ll never even see waaaaaay in the distance.

And just HOW exactly you’d go about ~smashing~ a human with a giant bell.
