One perennial problem for Game of Thrones viewers – or indeed, viewers of any popular TV series – is that of spoilers. But the producers of the medieval fantasy epic have come up with a novel solution to avoid that happening for Game of Thrones season 8.
HBO’s president of programming Casey Bloys, who was speaking to students, faculty and the public at Bethlehem’s Moravian College, elaborated:
“I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens. You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”
It’s not the first time this has happened, though. The immensely popular Breaking Bad and The Sopranos both kept their endings secret by shooting different endings.
Meanwhile, production on Game of Thrones season 8 begins in October and may go on till August 2018. This means that we may not get to watch the final season till 2019.
