Gallery Dept. and Ugg are shifting from Southern California to the Wild West for their second collaboration.
A four-style collection from the two partners includes boots transformed into the cowboy variety, as well as silhouettes reimagined with upcycled denim and canvas from surplus bags. Gallery Dept.’s Ugg Stitched Boot features a cowboy boot’s hallmark high shaft with embroidered decoration. The toe remains in the familiar round shape of Ugg boots, and the signature sheepskin fleece lining is also maintained. The exterior’s waterproof leather, meanwhile, has been sourced from farms practicing regenerative agriculture.
Each pair of the Denin Boot, Canvas Boot and Canvas Tasman slipper will be unique because of their upcycled construction. The Denim Boot makes use of various washes and is heavily frayed along the stitches of its patchwork design. The higher-cut Canvas boot also keeps features from the canvas bags that shape it, including handles, pockets and patches.
Like the Stitched Boot, the other three models keep the cozy fleece lining. White and orange patches for Ugg and Gallery Dept., respectively, come stitched on the heels of all three boots and are then rendered as hangtags for the Tasman slipper.
Gallery Dept. and Ugg linked up for the first time near the beginning of the year Classic Boots and Tasmans decorated with paint splatter and jewel-like embellishments. The former brand has also garnered praise for its paint-splattered Asics GT-2160 and distressed punk Vans Old Skool collaborations from 2023.
The Gallery Dept. x Ugg boots and Tasman slipper will release October 18 through the two labels’ websites, as well as select-third party retailers. Pricing runs from $350 for the Stitched Boot up to $495 for the Canvas and Denim Boots.
