Gabrielle Union's hairstylist has confessed he cried when she began to lose her hair.
The Bring It On star recently revealed that she secretly suffered from premature baldness in 2017, a side effect of fertility treatment she was undergoing at the time, and felt awful having to promote her haircare line, Flawless by Gabrielle Union, while going bald.
Discussing the upcoming relaunch of the brand, Gabrielle's hairstylist and Flawless co-founder Larry Sims has not only been credited with nursing her hair back to health, but was on hand to support the devastated actress.
"I cried with Gabrielle when her hair fell out. I’m bald, but it felt like my hair was falling out. For me to be responsible for her hair, and to see what IVF did to it, it just really put a fire inside me to come up with products that reinvigorate and ignite hair growth," he told People magazine.
The duo are excited for the re-release of Flawless, and after "wrestling back" control of the company, they focused on creating “salon-quality products at affordable prices and available to as many people as possible".
The 47-year-old actress also picked her favourite products from the affordable haircare line, and said the 3 Minute Restoring Conditioner was one of the best in the 12-piece collection.
"(Larry) and I are both kind of obsessed with it. It’s so silky and yummy, and gives your hair that immediate snap back,” Gabrielle said.
And the star is proud to put her name on a haircare brand she's finally proud of.
“Now I have my hair back, and a line that’s accessible to our Black, textured audience. I think that we can see the massive difference with this relaunch. It’s so exciting," she added.
