Frozen yoghurt brand llaollao will make its highly-anticipated return to Singapore with a new store opening at Changi Airport on Saturday (16 June).

The dessert chain’s first outlet here since the brand’s island-wide closure in December last year is located in the departure hall of Terminal 2 at the airport.

Llaollao announced its store’s opening on Friday (15 June), along with promotions which include a free six-month supply of its Sanum parfait for the first five customers (one redemption per week for six months) when it opens at 10am.

The rest of the first 100 customers will also get to win other prizes in a lucky dip.

The chain will open a second store in Tampines 1 mall at the end of June, with more outlets in the pipeline after that.

The Changi Airport store will be operated by llaollao’s new franchisee, local company Manna.

Fans of llaollao mourned its departure after the previous franchisee closed all 29 outlets in Singapore and reopened them under the Yolé brand.

Llaollao said last year that it was disappointed with the decision by its former master franchisee D+1 Holding to retire the brand in Singapore, but vowed to make a swift return to the market.

It will be interesting to see how the competition plays out between llaollao and Yolé now that the former has made its comeback. D+1 Holding had said that it decided to replace llaollao’s stores as its menu was “exhausted after three years” and that Yolé would “bring a much wider menu with a larger variety of products”.

Yolé, which was touted as a European brand initially, has several outlets in Taiwan and sources its products from Spain and Italy.
