"Friends by Food Truck" denies replacing Anthony Wong

9 Jul – The team of Anthony Wong's Taiwanese TV show, "Friends by Food Truck" has recently dismissed rumours that claim that the actor will not be involved in the third season of the show.

As reported on Epoch Times, speculations about the actor being let go from the show sparked recently, after it was revealed that Anthony is staying in Hong Kong instead of returning to Taiwan to continue shooting the show.

Further fuelling the rumour was the actor's announcement that he will be preparing for a stage play in Hong Kong instead.

A tabloid claimed that the crew of "Friends by Food Truck" are afraid of Anthony, who is known for being no-nonsense and opinionated, and that neither the producer nor the director dared to demand much from him.

"The production unit intends not to renew Anthony's contract after the second season, and will instead replace him with another celebrity," the tabloid read. "The current schedule is still under planning and discussion."

However, this piece of rumour had since been refuted by the production unit of the show, with LINE TV producer saying, "Mr Anthony Wong is expected to return to Taiwan at the end of September to enter the second season of shooting. The programme is expected to be broadcast two months until December."

The producer also stressed that there have been no updates on the third season let alone to discuss about replacing Anthony.

On the other hand, the actor stated that filming of season 2 was suspended temporarily due to the rising number of cases in Taiwan, and that he will return to shoot the show again in August.
