Fred Cheng wishes good luck to New Talent's contestants

21 Feb - Fred Cheng can't believe that he is now considered a senior in the eyes of the contestants of the 2016 TVB International Chinese New Talent Singing Championship.

As reported on Mingpao News, the singer, who appeared at the press conference of the said show recently, stated that it has been 16 years since he competed in the same programme back in 2001.

"I am old now. But I am still scared of being called [a senior]. Seeing all these participants has brought back a lot of memories for me. I can understand how they are feeling right now," he said.

When asked if he will support contestants from Canada, the Vancouver-born Fred responded that he just hopes that everybody who is competing will give their best performance.

The New Talent Singing Championship, which was established since 1982, has given birth to a lot of talented stars in Hong Kong, including Anita Mui, Dicky Cheung, Hacken Lee, Sammi Cheng, Miriam Yeung, and Eason Chan.
