Fred Cheng records theme song meant for Hubert Wu?
9 May – TVB actor-singer Fred Cheng recently expressed ignorance over the rumours involving the recording of his song, "Iron Heart".
As reported on Mingpao, sources alleged that fellow singer Hubert Wu was originally chosen to record the aforementioned song - which is also the theme song to the hit series, "The Defected". However, the company reportedly replaced Hubert with Fred due to his "arrogant attitude".
When asked about it, Fred stated that he only knew that the company wanted someone with a lower tone to sing the song.
"Mine is much lower [than Hubert's voice]. I was filming at the time when the company called me to record the song, and I did it the next day," he said.
The singer admitted that he was worried that he wouldn't do the song justice due to the fact that he only had one night to fully digest the song.
"But the company said it was okay, and let me record it one verse at a time. It was fortunate that it came out better than expected," he said.
