Francis Ng takes no salary for "Men on the Dragon"

2 Aug – Hong Kong actor Francis Ng recently admitted that he didn't take a salary for his performance in the new movie, "Men on the Dragon".

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke to the media to promote the upcoming film recently, shared that despite the financial assistance the movie received from the Hong Kong Film Development Fund, he believes that it is his responsibility to do something to help the industry.

"If there is similar format films in the future, I would consider doing it again. I would do one every year until no one asks for me anymore," he added.

On the other hand, Francis admitted that he didn't take any rowing course before filming the movie despite the fact that it is a film about the dragon boat race.

"The character I played doesn't know how to row a dragon boat, so I used that ignorance in the shoot. I learned as much as the character as the shoot went on," he said.

When asked if he has a newfound love for the sport now, Francis laughed and said that it would be a problem if he falls in love with it, as he will then have to gather at least 20 people to make a team.
