Record Store Day has announced its full list of exclusive releases for the much-awaited annual Black Friday event, which will take place on November 29.
Here is a selection of four limited-edition recordings that will jazz up your post-Thanksgiving celebrations.
Pearl Jam, "MTV Unplugged (3/161992)"
The Record Store Day ambassadors will release a limited-edition and first-ever vinyl pressing of their 1992 "MTV Unplugged" set.
The session was recorded three days after the completion of their first-ever American tour, while the band was heading back to New York City.
"We literally got off the plane from Europe, spent all day in a cavernous sound studio in New York, and did the show that night. It's pretty powerful, and Ed's singing great. Yet it's kind of naive, which is awesome," bassist Jeff Ament recalled in a statement.
This vinyl edition features six cuts from Pearl Jam's seminal debut album, "Ten," such as "Jeremy," "Even Flow," "Oceans," "Porch," "Black" and "Alive."
Fans of the rock band will also be able to enjoy a stripped-back version of "State Of Love And Trust," which appeared on the soundtrack for the 1992 rom-com "Singles."
Lou Reed, "The Raven"
This year, Reed's 19th studio album will be released for the first time on vinyl.
"The Raven" found the late Velvet Underground guitarist recounting the short stories and poems of American poet and master of gothic horror Edgar Allan Poe through word and song.
The album features readings by Laurie Anderson, Fisher Stevens, Steve Buscemi, Willem Dafoe and Elizabeth Ashley, which are interspersed with pieces of instrumental music and songs by Reed, David Bowie and Ornette Coleman among others.
Fans of the musician will also be able to enjoy different versions of two Reed classics -- "Perfect Day" from his breakthrough album "Transformer" and "The Bed" from his 1973 "Berlin."
Joe Satriani, "Surfing With The Alien"
More than 30 years after its release in 1987, Satriani's sophomore studio album will be reissued as a double LP on vinyl for Black Friday.
This deluxe edition features a remastered version of "Surfing With The Alien" along with a unique presentation of the Grammy-nominated album without its signature guitar leads.
Seasoned fans of the American guitarist will be able to rediscover unforgettable hits such as "Always With Me, Always With You," "Satch Boogie" under a new light.
In a 2017 interview with Music Radar, Satriani opened up about how "Surfing With The Alien" came together.
"It was under such a climate that it didn't seem that anyone was going to accept such an album. So it was such a wonderful surprise when it was embraced, because it wasn't a calculated record and much was sacrificed to get it done," he said.
Elvis Presley, "American Sound 1969"
This exclusive Record Store Day release features rare and previously unreleased outtakes from Presley's 1969 sessions with producer Chips Moman at American Sound Studio in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee.
During these sessions, the King famously recorded hits such as "Suspicious Minds" and "In The Ghetto," which later appeared on his tenth studio album, "From Elvis in Memphis."
This double LP, available for the first time on vinyl, also includes alternate versions of "Don't Cry Daddy," "Long Black Limousine" and "From A Jack To A King."
