When it comes to winning HGTV's Dream Home contest, you’ll just have to play your odds. But if you've ever wanted to live in one of the stunning homes built exclusively for the network's annual sweepstakes (see also: HGTV's Smart Home and Urban Oasis ), it just got a lot easier. A former HGTV Dream Home located in Tyler, Texas just hit the market and it could be yours for $1.7 million.
This 5,264-square-foot home is (aptly) an absolute dream. Built in 2004 and raffled off in 2005, this waterfront home doesn't just offer stunning views of Lake Tyler, but it comes with a literal floating boat house, separate from the main house.
The charming one-bedroom boathouse boasts a kitchen, and a full-bathroom, as well as two boat slips and a water-scooter lift on its exterior. And that’s not even the main house.
Upon walking inside the open space three-story home that lies on land, you'll be stunned by its massive 32-foot tall ceilings built from cedar trusses, the gorgeous limestone fireplace, and hand-scraped hardwood floors. As an added luxury, the home is equipped with an elevator to help residents quickly travel to their destination — which may include one of the four bedrooms or 3.5 bathrooms.
The primary bedroom has quite an interesting setup: “It is actually separate from the main house. You go through a breezeway," Jacquelyn Moose, who currently holds the listing with Choice Listings, told Realtor.com. While residents technically have to step outside to travel through the covered breezeway to their suite, they'll pass the home's outdoor fireplace and spa — which is still beyond sweet, if you ask me.
Moose notes that Lake Tyler has both weekend and full-time residents. Also, if direct lake access isn’t a deal sealer for you, the home also includes an outdoor in-ground pool.
