We’ve all seen pictures and videos of cute pandas living the life and even wishing that we could be as carefree as them.

That wish could come true, because foodpanda says it will be launching the first ever ‘panda retreat’ known as The Pandanctuary. The Pandanctuary is aimed at helping Singaporeans get away from the stress of city life and allowing them to live like pandas for a weekend.

Foodpanda says it identified the benefits of dressing up like a panda based on a British research, which estimated that over 10,000 people dress up as animals to escape from the pressures of modern living.

Foodpanda says the panda is the perfect animal to based the retreat on, given its renowned leisurely behaviour.

The Pandanctuary will be launched in collaboration between the food delivery company and Studio M Hotel on Nanson Road. Potential ‘pandas’ will be provided with the ultimate panda experience that includes a bespoke ‘panda room’ decked out with bamboo plants, play ropes and large water bowls.

Participating ‘pandas’ will also get to dine on the best bamboo-inspired food available, with drinks dishes such as Bamboo Shoot Risotto and Bamboo Sling curated by Jamie’s Italian restaurant. Bamboo-flavoured cakes can also be arranged for ‘pandas’ celebrating special occasions.

Managing Director of foodpanda Singapore Aspa Lekka said, “With studies showing that dressing up like an animal is scientifically proven to reduce stress levels, we wanted to give our busy customers the opportunity to see what it’s like to live like our ‘chilled out’ mascot for the weekend – the beloved panda”.

The Pandanctuary retreat will begin from 1 April, and aspiring ‘pandas’ can sign up for the retreat online. Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore also notes that 1 April is popular date for another reason.
