SINGAPORE — From now until the end of November, the tripartite of luxury come together in a collaboration that's equal parts decadence and indulgence. Ruinart and Dior Parfums present An Afternoon Tea for the Senses at The Drawing Room of the grand, old dame—St Regis. The mise en scene is fitting for a partnership this unmatched. Like Dior and Ruinart, The St. Regis Singapore is positioned at the top of the market, offering timeless elegance and faultless service synonymous with its name.

The Dior parfum at the centre of this inspired tea soiree is Joy—created by legendary perfumer, François Demachy. The fragrance is based on the idea of a burst of flowers streaming forth as luminous as a firework. Centifolia Rose and Jasmine Grandiflorum form the heart of the fragrance.

To wit, Ruinart is one of the world's oldest established Champagne houses founded by Nicolas Ruinart in the Champagne region in the city of Reims. Today, the house is owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SA. For this collaboration, the Ruinart Rosé is chosen as the accompanying champagne for its delicate pink—reminiscent of Dior's Joy—with very slightly orange reflections. The nose is subtle and fresh, first offering an original palette of tropical fruits and small berries, followed by rose and pomegranate notes.

Newly minted executive chef, Thibault Ciumento and his team have crafted a high tea menu that combines the delicate sensibility of Dior with Ruinart's storied history. We start with sweets of Rosé Bavarois with Gula Melaka Cream on Raspberry Tartlet, followed by a decadent Strawberry Éclair. Pistachio and Sakura Mousse with Confit Kumquat is enlivened with a quick spritz of Orange Blossom water.

A platter of savoury bites follows with a Lobster Mayonnaise Soft Bun Sandwich with Herring Caviar, Mango, Beetroot and Goat Cheese Sandwich, Salmon and Cucumber Cream Cheese Sandwich, and my favourite of the lot, Foie Gras Mousse Tartlet with Fig Compote. There's just something incredibly balanced about an earthy foie gras that's paired with a bright, sweet fig compote.

You're then presented with a round of freshly baked Ruby Chocolate-coated Madeleines and Assorted Scones. If you're yet to be filled up, the scones here will be just the thing that you need. It's at once fluffy, dense without veering on heavy, and crumbles in the mouth so beautifully.

High tea ends with a plated dessert of Vanilla & Rhubarb Vacherin with Lime Coconut Meringue, Verbena Parfait and Coconut Jelly. There's a lot of individual elements to unpack in this one plate, but suffice to say, it comes together heroically though it might favour those for whom sour overtones are a preference.

An Afternoon Tea for the Senses is perfect for those days when the objective is to pamper yourself and truly luxuriate. And what better way to luxuriate than with a small gift by Dior that awaits every patron. Bon appétit!
