'I will be annoying': Flight attendant's strict speech on wearing masks goes viral

A flight attendant has gone viral after one passenger recorded and shared her passionate speech about wearing masks.
TikTok user Tyler Janee recently shared a video of a flight attendant speaking over the flight's intercom, explaining the airline's strict policy on masks. While neither the flight attendant nor the airline were identified by the video's creator, the clip has caught the attention of many TikTok users, garnering more than 2.8 million views.
"We see you without your face coverings," the flight attendant said off-camera. "I know it's a 46-minute flight, you all look tired – we already established that – so you might fall asleep. If that face covering is not on your face properly, I will wake you up and I do not care, OK?"
The flight attendant continued to reiterate that airline staff will be diligent in enforcing mask policy.
"I will be annoying. We don't have to be annoying, but I will be," she said. "So I already see some noses right now, and we've got COVID tests on board; we will swab you."
Janee's video sparked a debate among viewers who were divided on whether the flight attendant's remarks and tone were professional.
"This is literal abuse. Wow," one TikTok user commented. "How she kept going with it is really unprofessional."
"It's giving impolite vibes," Someone else added. "Is this for real? They really talk to you all like that?"
"There's a way to be professional about this. If I owned an airline and heard an employee speaking like this to paying customers I'd be upset," another person wrote.
Despite the criticism, others applauded the flight attendant for creating firm boundaries to protect passengers from COVID.
"Give that flight attendant a raise!" one person commented, while another wrote, "I support her completely."
"I'm here for her attitude," another chimed in. "She should be in charge of the country."
"Unprofessional? She's keeping the airline from being sued because the exact ones who refuse to keep their masks on will turn around with Larry Lawyer," someone else pointed out.
"I don't blame her. I work in healthcare and I'm so tired of asking people to do something that has been a rule for a year," added another.
"She has probably tried being nice about it in the past and it didn't work," someone else suggested.
