Fitri Haris lodges report against anti-vaccine group

2 Jul – Nasyid singer Fitri Haris recently revealed that he has lodged a police report against an anti-vaccine group for using his wife's recent complications in giving birth to their child to spread false information about vaccinations.

On 30 June, the UNIC member posted on Instagram that he has already taken the matter to the police, after a Telegram group decided to use pictures and stories about the birth of his child and his wife's condition, and claiming that the complications were a result of the vaccination.

"The report is made after taking into account false information that can confuse the public about vaccinations and its effects, because according to the health report and the normality of the baby's birth, what had happened was normal for a C-section," he wrote.

Fitri also stated that he decided to lodge the report out of a sense of responsibility, seeing that the frontliners have been working hard to ensure that the country is free of COVID-19.

"I urge the public not to spread and use pictures or news of other individuals at will without knowing the facts and accurate information, as it can bring about unnecessary fear and confusion," he added.

Fitri and wife Fazilah recently welcomed their newborn son after the latter had to undergo surgery and delivered the baby earlier than expected due to chronic asthma. Their baby also had to be sent to the Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU) due to breathing difficulties.
