5 Oct – Fish Leong recently expressed her sadness over losing the Best Female Mandarin Singer again at the Golden Melody Awards.
As reported on Apple Daily, the Malaysia-born singer revealed as much in a now-deleted post - where she shared a photo of her pre-written speech, which read, "I am so happy that I can finally stand on the stage after 20 years. A lot of good friends in the circle have won this award, and I was the only one left."
It is noted that Fish lost the Best Female Mandarin Singer to Waa Wei for her performance in "Hidden, Not Forgotten".
Her mood soon changed the morning after, as Fish posted another message on Instagram that read, "I'll leave everything for tomorrow. The sun rises as usual, cheers."
It is noted that this was the sixth time that Fish was nominated at the GMA. In a previous interview, the singer admitted that she did have high hopes of winning due to the fact that she has never won before. It was also significant as it was her first album since her divorce from husband Tony Chao.
On the other hand, fans and netizens alike express their sadness over her loss, though some agreed that it was a tough competition.
