WARNING: Do not watch this extremely nostalgic and delightful clip in public, unless you want strangers to see you ugly cry.

The Mister Rogers movie is based on real-life events.

The official synopsis for the film describes it as a "a timely story of kindness triumphing over cynicism." In other words, it's exactly what 2019 needs.

"After a jaded magazine writer is assigned a profile of Fred Rogers, he overcomes his skepticism, learning about empathy, kindness, and decency from America’s most beloved neighbor," reads the description for the movie, which was inspired by the article "Can You Say. . . Hero?" by Tom Junod. (You can read the real profile Junod wrote online at Esquire.)

'A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood' has a November release date.

The biopic will premiere nearly two years after news of its creation first broke in January 2018. While it was previously scheduled for an October release date, Sony's trailer description for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood confirms it hits theaters "this Thanksgiving."
