Avengers: Endgame premiered in Los Angeles just a few hours ago, and while we’ll have to wait until 11pm tonight for the official reviews, early reactions on Twitter have landed.

And it sounds like Marvel fans can finally breathe, with many critics hailing the movie as a satisfying conclusion to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.

Over 21 movies so far, starting with Jon Favreau’s introduction of Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man in 2008, the multi-billion dollar franchise has been building to this moment, with directorial siblings the Russo brothers tasked with delivering the home run.

It appears that they’ve done it justice.

But it’s been something of a rocky road in the realm of Marvel fandom with some major plot leaks emerging online last week.

It ushered in a warning from the Russos delivered on Twitter, imploring fans to avoid spoiling the action for others.

Fans were also warned about trolls posting spoilers all over the web, from social media to comment threads.

The movie finds the Avengers decimated after the climax of Avengers: Infinity War, in which Josh Brolin’s Thanos retrieved all of the feted Infinity Stones, and with a snap of his fingers, destroyed half of all life across the universe.

It now falls to those remaining, including Captain America, Black Widow, Thor and the Hulk, now joined by Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel, to seek their vengeance.

Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Bradley Cooper, and Josh Brolin, it’s out across the UK on 25 April.
