FIRST LOOK: Deadpool 2’s first teaser drops!

While this isn’t really the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated Deadpool 2, it’s still our very first look at the movie and has plenty of hints at the things to come.

In a classic tongue-in-cheek move, the trailer starts off as a Bob Ross parody video. For those unfamiliar with the reference, Bob Ross hosted an instructional TV show called “The Joy of Painting” in the 80s and 90s.

More recently, the show has seen a surge of interest online and is prized for being extremely calming and gentle, resulting in a bit of a cult following online.

So for the teaser to cut from the staged calm of Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) dabbing a brush on a canvas to all out mayhem was actually pretty damn genius.

We only see bits and pieces: Cable’s (Josh Brolin) leg while he draws his gun, Deadpool with Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and Dopinder (Karan Soni), a shot of Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand) looking pissed off, as well as Blind Al (Leslie Uggams) and Domino (Zazie Beetz).

In a move worthy of Deadpool himself, the teaser will run before selected screenings of Justice League (see our review) in the US. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see what a full trailer has in store for us.

How excited are you for Deadpool 2? Let us know in the comments!
